Welcome to the MDPA Digital Fab Lab: Where Ideas Take Shape

A Digital Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab) is an open-access, technology-driven workspace equipped with advanced manufacturing tools, including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and electronic workstations.

Globally, Fab Labs have revolutionized industries by fostering innovation, entrepreneurship,and hands-on learning. In countries like the United States, Japan, and Germany, these creative hubs have successfully driven STEM education, accelerated rapid prototyping, and boosted small-scale manufacturing. They provide individuals and businesses with the means to turn abstract ideas into tangible, real-world products. Crucially, these spaces play a vital role in bridging the digital divide, enabling communities to develop localized, technological solutions
to everyday challenges.

Empowering Mauritius Through Digital Fabrication

The Mauritius Digital Promotion Agency (MDPA) has long been a champion of digital fabrication. Through our highly successful 3D printing project, we introduced 3D printers, laser cutters, and engraving machines to various institutions across the island. This deep expertise has positioned MDPA as a key enabler in launching a full-fledged Digital Fab Lab, reinforcing our ongoing mission to promote digital literacy and technological innovation in Mauritius.

We are proud to announce that since May 2026, the MDPA Digital Fab Lab is fully operational. In collaboration with the Academy of Design and Innovation (ADI), we are hosting this state of the art facility featuring a comprehensive park of 3D Printers, Laser Cutters, and CNC Machines, right on their premises.
