On June 9, 2025, Dr. the Hon. Mahend GUNGAPERSAD, PDSM, Minister of Education and Human Resources, officially launched the Girls in ICT 2025: Career Counseling Programme at the Mohan Prasad Sharma Jugdambi State Secondary School in Goodlands.
Celebrated under the theme “Girls in ICT for Inclusive Digital Transformation”, Girls in ICT Day 2025 aims to empower girls to explore opportunities in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), supporting their educational and socio-economic development while encouraging careers in STEM and technology-related fields.
The initiative seeks to break down barriers that hinder girls from accessing STEM education and to promote gender equality by equipping them with essential digital skills and resources. This interactive programme will be extended to other girls’ secondary schools throughout June 2025, in collaboration with key industry associations, including OTAM, MITIA, and CCIFM.
